Excitement over Google’s mobile device platform, Android

This isn’t going to be a very informative post, but I must say that I just heard about Android and am super excited. In December I upgraded to a BlackJack II so I’ve been trying to learn as much as possible about mobile computing. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a non-data plan now. Unfortunately, the price per month is a bit steep (I’m hoping as mobile computing becomes more popular the price will decrease), but it’s so convenient to have 3G Internet access almost anywhere (unless you are in a small college town in the middle of Kansas) and everything that comes along with that (email, google maps, twitter, etc). To be honest, I’ve been slightly disappointed with Windows Mobile 6.1 and the BlackJack II UI. Mainly because they are both resistant to customization and they lack sufficient integration between applications. I can’t wait until I can have an open-source platform on my phone that has awesome integration and is totally customizable! It’s a step in the right direction if you ask me.
